St. Boniface Catholic Church

Starting this Tuesday, Oct. 2 evening at 7pm the Adult Faith Formation class will be studying Bishop Barron’s 7-week study of the Mass. Pastor Key wants all

teachers, all liturgical leaders and everyone available to participate in this study. Tuesday is our introductory lesson. Books are available this Sunday. Mass is at 6:00, supper at 6:30. As part of our “Step up to Success” in Education program, volunteers are needed in English, Math, and Science for the students at St. Boniface and our community. If you can tutor our students at least once a week in one of these areas, please sign the volunteer sheet in the community hall. Anna Hodges will contact you and set up an organization meeting with all the tutors. Confessions are held: Friday (Spanish) 6-7pm and after Mass. Saturday (English) 4-5pm and after Mass; or call the church office for an appointment.

St. Boniface has obtained the Catholic education on-line resources from “FORMED,” from the Augustine Institute. “FORMED” is a wonderful tool for individuals, children, teens, and families. You can go to www.stbonifacechandler.formed.org, click “register.” There is a link on the website under the faith formation tab, there is also a flyer available in the community room.

Saturdays, St. Boniface Catholic Church offers a Vigil Mass at 5pm Saturday.

Sunday, St. Boniface Catholic Church offers a English Mass at 9:30am / Spanish Mass at 12:00. Log-on to www.stbonifacechandler.org. On the “Contact Us” page, you will see a form for New Parishioner registration. The “Giving Opportunities” page has several options. You now can make on-line donations to St. Boniface.

The Use your Teacher Voice and Vote Rally will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Gregg County Courthouse front lawn. Speakers include Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt, State Representatives Trent Ashby and Jay Dean, as well as Texas Retired Teachers Association Director Tim Lee. The Rally will focus on retiree health insurance issues, protection of public school employees’ defined benefits pension plan and meaningful school finance reform. All public school employees, retirees and education supporters are strongly encouraged to attend. The rally goal is to send a bipartisan propublic education message before the November election and the start of January’s state legislative session.

parents are asked to bring FSA ID from fsaid.ed.com before attending the event.

Attention all Mahjong Players: Rock Hill Baptist Church is hosting its 3rd annual Charity Mahjong Game Day on Thursday, October 25, from 10am-3pm. The event is being held at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 20022 State Hwy 31E, Brownsboro, Texas 75756 (approximately 1.5 Miles West of Chandler on Hwy. 31). Your $25 per person donation includes approximately 4 hours of playing Mahjong, Lunch, Door Prizes, Snacks, and Silent Auction. All proceeds will go to IRON HOUSE, a men’s not-for-profit sober living facility, located in Eustace, Texas. To participate, contact Patsy Adair (903) 539-8773 or (903) 852-6540 *can leave a message. Please have one person on your team notify Patsy as soon as possible for a headcount and you can pay your donation at the door.
