Calvin Jonathan Towers passed away on June 19, 2011, surrounded by his family and friends at his home on Lake Palestine, in Chandler, Texas. He was born January 30, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas, to Richard G. Towers, Sr. and Olga Hoffman Towers.

His accomplishments include owning his businesses, Goodson Manufacturing, in Dallas for 11 years, and Kiwk Kopy Printing Centers, in Tyler for 20 years. He was a Veteran of the US Army and US Army Reserve for five years during the Korean War. As an active member of his community, he served as President and various other positions for the Wildewood Home-owners Association for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elouise Schwarz Towers; children David Towers of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Michael Towers of Bullard, Texas; Melanie Towers Kilmer of Boulder, Colorado; Grandchildren: Christopher, of Helena, Montana; Curtis, of Macon, Georgia; Lauren and Matthew, of Boulder, Colorado; Michael of Bullard, Texas; Great- Grandchildren: Kristina and Michele; and sisters Georgiana Towers and Rebecca Holt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Richard, Jr. and Lloyd; sisters Nellie Colley, Mamie Straube, Beatrice Martin and Olga Loep.

A memorial service was held Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Hunter St., Tyler, Texas, at 2:00 p.m., under the supervision of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home.
